Alpha Stamps is taking over several of my former stamp designs from Queen of Tarts Stamps. They aren't quite available yet.
But this stamp I designed - but never used (so it's new new!) is now available.
Doodle Bird is available at the Alpha Stamps website.
I'll be sure to post when my other stamps (and a few collage sheets) become available.
Thanks to Diane for alerting me that this is out!
And to reply to a few comments:
Erika - We're having a girl and she's due mid-September. (soon!)
Geri - I skipped the bits where she had you add collage. Well, I did a couple, and then skipped the glossy one and then when I was finished, I didn't like most of the collage elements and ripped them off.
Regina - Thank you!
I feel rather crazy, but I started a new art journal. I have never actually finished an art journal, I have several that I work on here and there. I don't work chronologically and I don't work in just one. But I decided I wanted a small journal with work that documents this last month before the Baby is born.
I started by cutting out paper for the pages and creating the backgrounds using this book:
Kaleidoscope: Projects and Ideas to Spark Your Creativity
by Suzanne Simanaitis
I worked with the article in this book by Juliana Coles. She basically walks you through several steps to create art to be more creative and free. I altered the instructions a bit for my purpose. The result is some really wild and fun backgrounds.
I'm trying to work with more of my own sketches and drawings.
I don't think I'll have many words in this art journal. I know what I feel when I look at this, but I don't feel the desire to explain it.
When I get done with all the pages, I'll bind up the loose pages and hopefully have something interesting from this last month of swollen stomach and hormones.
My first painting for the baby's room. This is pretty big, 18 by 24 inches and quite colorful. I used the dyed paper towel technique I learned in Traci Bautista's class at Artfest. These are dyed paper towels over black and white photocopies (she talks about this in her book too). Then I created the flowers in pen and ink over acrylic backgrounds and finished off each square with machine stitching.
So chicken tacos actually have nothing to do with this little piece of art I made. Just a little ATC I whipped out the other day.
I've been quiet lately here because we are really getting down to the last few months before Baby arrives and I've been trying to prepare for that. Part of the preparations are baby stuff- getting the baby's room set up and all the necessary items bought. The other part is getting my work stuff at a point where I can leave it and take some time off. I'm self-employed so there isn't anyone who can take over while I'm out. I'm also at 2 doctor's appointments a week (and I'm still a month and half away from my due date).
Despite all this, I have managed to squeeze in a little time for art. This is a painting I finished a while ago. I'm loving Dr. Martin's white ink. I also finished one of the paintings for the baby's room, which I will post as soon as I get it photographed.
