'Tis the season to give gifts. But I like to get one or two artsy gifts for myself at Christmas. Here are a few things that have caught my eye.
When I saw these Caran d'Ache Neocolor Metallic Artist Crayons, I had to have them. Yep, they are under my Christmas tree or they will be as soon as I get a tree up and my husband wraps them for me. Meanwhile, I'm trying very hard not to break them out early. These aren't water-soluble like the other crayons (at least not as far as I can tell), but I think they will be great for adding color to my art journal.
People are making some cool rub-ons on these days. Very cool. It's hard for me to resist rub-ons that are this cool. Tinkering Ink also has lovely scrapbook papers, but their rub-ons are what caught my eye.
I'm a sucker for stickers . . . errrr labels. Stickers are what kids collect . . . labels are for adults. Right? I had a sticker book as a kid and collected stickers and loved them, until I became too grown up and ditched the sticker collecting phase. Too bad for me. But I am loving stickers . . . err labels again and this box of labels by Sukie is too yummy.
If you are stumped by color or just need some color inspiration, visit Adobe's Kuler site. You can create color palettes yourself. Or you can browse other people's color creations. I really like to look at what other people have come up with and then use them myself for inspiration for projects I'm working on.
Here's a color palette for a project I'm currently working on:
